Kasarabada Scholars
Program extended to Post Graduate courses in
Pithapur Rajah's Govt College (2019-2020),
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
Athato Foundation , a Kasarabada Trust continues to focus on Education. The Kasarabada Scholars program initiated at PR Govt college Kakinada (AP) 2018-19 has now been extended to the PG courses
Athato Foundation established scholarships for MSc ( Physics) at the Pithapur Rajah's Govt college , Kakinada, AP during 2019-20 academic year. There will be two scholarships, one in the MSc ( I year) and the second one in MSc (II year). These two Scholarships have been set up in the name of Padmashree Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao garu.
The Scholarship amount is Rs1000 per month for the nine months of the academic calendar. The Students are selected by the college based on Merit.
For the academic year 2019-20 the Scholarships were awarded to:
- K. V. V. Satyanarayana of II year PG and
- M Chinnari of I year PG
both of whom were the toppers in their class.
The college authorities have selected three students for the award of scholarships in The BSc program and the same have been awarded Kasarabada scholarships for the year 2019-20. The three Kasarabada Scholars in PR Govt College ( 2019-20) are :
- 1st year BSc student Mr. B L Saibabu
- 2nd Year BSc student Ms. NSC Neelima D/o Sri N Rambabu.
- 3rd Year BSc student Ms. M Krishna Leela D/o Sri M Tirupati Rao.
The names of the two PG Scholars are also expected to be announced soon.
About PR Govt College: Pithapur Rajah's College, Kakinada ranks among the earliest institutions of Higher Education in South India. It is located in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. P.R.College was originally established in August, 1884 by Sri Rajah Rao Venkata Mahipathi, Gangadhara Rama Rao, Bahadur. First it was started as a middle school, and became a full fledged College. Considering the development of P.R Govt. College, UGC conferred autonomous status, with the concurrence of Andhra University and the approval of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The college became autonomous with effect from the academic year 2000 –2001. The College has been Identified for the status of CPE (College with Potential for Excellence) by the UGC.
